Merry Christmas

Christmas is real close. A few days away. I'll drink more and more as the day approaches and on December 25th I will drink really sweet fancy things like brandy Alexanders and Hairy Navels and Egg Nog with Brandy. I am also going to cook a three rib prime roast, bake two sweet potatoes and put together a from scratch delectable Caesar Salad. I will make a couple of incredibly good desserts that my Mom used to make. Something she called a Matrimonial Cake that takes about 2 lbs. of dates, and Lemon squares that I consider a health dessert (Haha). I will set a beautiful table with a linen table cloth and napkins. I will light candles and open a good bottle of wine. This will be enough food to keep me nourished for about two weeks. This I will do all by myself. I do all this because I have to or else. I also do this because hope springs eternal and maybe someone will come to my house to share. Merry Christmas.

"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."

Going Green

I was out feeding my horses the other day. In the interest of contributing to the greening of the planet I was wearing a coconut fibre shirt, soybean pants and a fashionable puce bamboo-based sweat shirt.

Surprize!!

The horses ate my clothes.

Photographs of Me

I have photographs of me
And paragraphs in yellowed journals
Someone I thought I'd be
That's all that's left of me
The girlhood gonna be
A woman still surprized
Just to be alive

...the goose is getting fat

..please put a penny in the old man's hat.
Winter has struck the BItterroot Valley. Finally! We're having a real Montana winter. Maybe it will stay and we'll have a real spring and summer again. My lilacs will bloom again and there will be apples on my trees. There will be no forest fires ruining the summer with choking smoke and frayed nerves.
Tonight there is a blowing blizzard outside my warm little house. I have the lights on my Christmas tree and my kitties are safe inside with me.
Life is good for it's simple things.
Tomorrow morning I will be clearing my way throught the snowdrifts to my car..maybe. Maybe I'll just take the day off.
